Arsenal are set to miss out on the signing of long time target James Milner.
According to the Metro, Liverpool are set to finally complete the signing of Milner from Manchester City in the summer when the former Aston Villa man will become a free agent.
The report also says that the 29-year-old is ‘destined’ to make the switch to Anfield, but suggest that City will make one last-ditch contract offer to tempt him to stay.
Arsenal where reportedly close to landing Milner last summer, but the move broke down and the England International went into the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Milner who earns £130,000-a-week is one of the most versatile stars in the Premier League as he can play almost anywhere on the pitch.
It is left to be seen if Arsene Wenger would revive his interest in signing him in the summer. And if he is still interested in Milner, then we are set to witness a transfer tug-of-war as the Reds have marked him as a replacement for departing Veteran Steven Gerrard.
