Atletico Bilbao are interested in signing Nacho Monreal this summer.

The Basque club are big admirers of the defender and have tried to sign him on several occasions in the past but were unsuccessful. However, they haven’t given up and are willing to try again, the Daily Mail claims Bilbao are considering a summer move for the defender.

The 31 year old has been in fine form this season but he may have to leave the Emirates as Wenger prepares to revamp our squad.

The left back is one position Wenger is keen on strengthening and Sead Kolasinac is set to become an Arsenal player when the transfer window opens on July 1 while we are also being linked with some other left-backs. This has reportedly thrown the futures of Monreal and Gibbs into doubt.

Despite being the club’s first choice left-back this season, Monreal could be the first to make way as he already has suitors.

The report claims new Atletico Bilbao boss Jose Angel Ziganda is keen on a reunion with Monreal, having worked together at Osasuna in the past.

Although, Arsenal have not yet decided which of its current left backs it will sell but I think Monreal is the one who is attracting the most interest and is currently the likeliest to make way for Kolasinac.
