Paris Saint Germain have dropped their interest in Alexis Sanchez because of the player’s excessive demands, according to reports.

Sanchez is in the middle of a contract renewal saga at Arsenal which has prompted links to other clubs. The Chilean international contract expires at the end of next season and several efforts by Arsenal to extend his contract in the past one year have been unsuccessful.

Some reports claimed the player is frustrated with Arsenal’s inability to challenge for major title while others say he is holding out for a massive increase to his current deal.

We are beginning to get more clarification on why Sanchez has stalled on signing a contract extension with Arsenal all these months, if we study reports carefully.

Just last month, Bayern Munich were keen on signing Sanchez but abandoned the move after the player’s representatives made their demand known to them. They opted to sign Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez, leaving PSG and Manchester City in the race for his signature.

Arsenal have no intention of selling to a rival, leaving Paris as a more realistic destination for the forward but PSG have now dropped their interest after learning of his demands.

According to Le Parisien, the French giants have now placed a move for Sanchez on hold because of his ‘greedy demands’ and difficulty in negotiating with Arsenal.

The French club have been working on ways to pacify Arsenal into selling but Sanchez demands have now complicated the whole process.

Whispers in France claim Sanchez demanded for a four year deal worth around £500,000 per week. While we can’t confirm the authenticity of this, it’s outrageous if true.

It only means Sanchez is being driven by money rather than the quest of winning trophies.

Arsenal are hoping to hold on to him next season but if things continue like this, it is likely that the Chilean will let his contract run down and then leave the Emirates for free next summer to a club that would pay him more.
