Arsenal broke their transfer record to sign French striker Alexandre Lacazette for 52m pounds on Tuesday night, and have now turned their attention to his France national teammate Thomas Lemar.
The Gunners have been looking to do very serious business this summer and after signing Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer, they sent a message of intent by signing Alexandre Lacazette for a club record fee, and they are now on to their next target in Monaco ace Lemar.
They have already had a 35m pounds bid rejected this summer by Monaco who have now slapped an 80m pounds price tag on the winger in an attempt to scare Arsenal away as they are not interested in selling.
Arsenal have given up on their interest in Kylian Mbappe hoping it would make AS Monaco more willing to do business as the club doesn’t want to lose too many of their stars this summer after selling Bernando Silva and Valerie Germain.
However, if Monaco refuse to reconsider their stance on his price tag which is looking very likely Arsenal already have a backup target in Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez who is willing to move to the Emirates.
Thomas Lemar contributed 14 assists and 11 goals in a breakthrough season last term, and is already a France international who’s style of play would bode well with both backup striker Olivier Giroud and record signing Lacazette.
