Arsene Wenger has begun revamping his squad ahead of next season and has already made two signings in Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac, with the former a club record signing and the latter a free transfer.
The boss is said to be working on more transfers as he aim to mount a successful title challenge next season.
As well as signing players, he would also have to perform a massive clearout.
As it stands, Wenger is set to offload two non-homegrown players because the squad has reached its limit for foreign players.
Premier League rules doesn’t allow clubs to have more than 17 foreign players above the age of 21 in its 25man squad.
And according to The Mirror via Tribal Football, Wenger is set to sell two players in order to be in line with the rules.
A host of Arsenal non-homegrown players have been linked with an exit already.
Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez, David Ospina and Lucas Perez are heavily linked with moves away from the Emirates. While Wenger are unwilling to lose some of the above-named players, he is willing to let some leave.
Again, a player like Mathieu Debuchy who have long been forgotten is still taking up a valuable non-homegrown spot in the squad and Wenger would be keen to ship him out.
With Wenger keen to sign more non-homegrown players like Mahrez and Lemar, it means he would have to sell more players in order to create space for these new signings.
It would be difficult to guess who would remains at the club at the end of the transfer window but I am hoping we will have a stronger squad than last season when Wenger is done with his mini surgery.
