Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour believes Jack Wilshere should join West Ham if he leaves Arsenal this summer.
The midfielder is reportedly up for sale, as Wenger try to get rid of thanks unwanted players in the squad and Wilshere player who has spent the majority of the last three seasons on the injury table is expected to leave the club this summer.
Several clubs are believed to be interested in Wilshere but Parlour believes the midfielder will be best placed at West Ham.
“West Ham would be a great fit for him,” said Parlour on talkSPORT via the Football.London.
“He’s got young children and you know if you go abroad he won’t be seeing them kids on a regular basis. He wants to be part of their lives growing up so he wants to stay in England if he can.
“West Ham would be a perfect fit, definitely.”
Wilshere is a boyhood West Ham fan and played for the Hammers as a child before he moved to Arsenal.
He will definitely be excited to return to the East London club if the opportunity arises. However, I don’t think it will happen this summer because the Hammers have already spent big.
Considering Arsenal are demanding at least £20m for Wilshere, West Ham may not have such huge funds to spend on a midfielder this window.
Wilshere is currently recovering from a broken leg injury he sustained while playing for Bournemouth last season against Manchester City and recently stepped up his recovery on Monday night by featuring for Arsenal’s U23.
