Shocking: Arsenal Set To Lose €19M Attacking Star. Not Poldi, Not Campbell.

It may not count for an awful lot if they should both score hat-tricks against Galatasaray, we are almost already convinced that Podolski and Campbell have one foot each out of the Emirates and so any news of a willing buyer flusters us no more.

However, reports that no less than THREE clubs from Spain are looking to take away our diminutive midfield geek, Santi Cazorla, will surely ruffle a gooner or two. Reigning La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid are said to be weighing up a move for him, while a few others are keeping  tabs with his situation at the Emirates.

The 30-year old Spanish International, since moving from Malaga in the summer of 2012, has enjoyed a two-and-a-half-year spell at North London which has seen him finish as the club’s Player of the Year in his first season, while scoring a vintage FA Cup goal to help us with our first trophy in 9 years.

The ever smiling Santi has recently discovered his magical touch after seemingly been on the adverse end of a midfield rotation that had seen him deployed away from his favourite central role. With Wilshere and Ozil unavailable, he has become more influential in the attacking third, supplying 3 assists and a goal in the last four Arsenal games.

With good reasons, then, will a possible exit of Cazorla not settle well amongst the Gunners’ fans as he is the team’s major creative force, at present. Though not yet translated to goals and assists, there is also the all too obvious bromance between him and Alexis, a major factor being the Spanish tongue which they share.

Cazorla has been one of Wenger’s regular comrades over the past 2 years, having arrived in the period when we had lost key men Robin van Persie and Alex Song, as well as Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas the season before. 12 League goals in his first season was a huge success as that feat made him only the second Arsenal player to score more than 10 goals in his first Premier League season, Thierry Henry being the other.

An incredibly ambidextrous individual, Cazorla’s abilities going forward have been a veritable weapon for us though he has been below the expected level finishing off a goal. That, surely, is not enough to ship out in January, now, is it?

Depends how you look at it to be honest unless we intend for him to retire at arsenal then jan or end of season would be ideal time to move him on, although we have to be grateful to cazorla for his service these last 3 seasons the fact is we need to re-balance our squad and its midfielder’s who are going to be sacrificed to accomplish this! Cazorla podolski and campbell should bring in £40m we only have a budget of 20m looking at players we are being connected to this may not even be enough to complete the deals wenger wants! We have to give wenger some slack really when we have limited funds and other teams can outbid us and outpay us without batting an eyelid! Although I do struggle to understand how our wage budget is apparently higher than chelseas, although the figures I’ve seen to support this seem heavily flawed
