Manchester City have renewed it’s interest in Hector Bellerin according to reports in Spain.
The Etihad outfit are planning to carry out a major overhaul of their playing staff this summer and the right back position is one they are keen on strengthening, after letting their two right backs leave.
Bellerin is top of Guardiola’s wishlist and the Spanish tactician has made a move to sign the defender.
According to Spanish publication Sport, City have made an official bid to sign the forward this summer.
The Etihad side hold a long standing interest in the defender and wanted to wait until the end of the season before testing Arsenal’s resolve, which they have now done.
They have reportedly tabled an attractive bid for the Spaniard and are hoping to get a response from Arsenal next week.
However, City will not find it easy to sign the defender as Arsenal are not interested in selling and will do everything possible to keep him here. Even if we were forced to consider a sale, Guardiola will face competition from his former club Barcelona, who are also keen on the 21 year old.
Arsenal are ready to place a price tag of more than €40m on the defender in a bid to discourage suitors and City may be reluctant to pay that much.
Truth is, suitors will have to do a lot to force Arsenal into doing business as we are looking forward to rebuilding our squad and not depleting it.
