Manchester United are lining up a £50m bid for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to the Sun via HITC Sport.
The Gunners midfielder is currently with Wales national team participating in the Euro 2016 competition. The midfielder has been particularly impressive with the Welsh side helping them to top of their group standings which had the likes of England and Russia.
Mourinho is said to be impressed by the midfielder’s performances in the competition and he is willing to pay as much as £50m to sign the midfielder.
The report claims Mourinho sees Ramsey as the man who could play the Frank Lampard role in his United team and he is keen to bring him over to Old Trafford.
Other reports suggests Ramsey on his own part could be willing to part ways with the Gunners this summer for guaranteed first team action elsewhere, with the huge competition expected in the Gunners midfield next season; which now has Mohammed Elneny and Granit Xhaka as new recruits, old players Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and even Alex Iwobi – who is also capable of slotting right in the centre of the park as well.
However, the Portuguese won’t find it easy as Wenger has already spoken of his reluctance to lose any of his key player this summer and losing Ramsey to a club and personal rival will be very difficult.
Ramsey scored five goals for Arsenal last season and a £50m bid would be too good to turn down.
However, we don’t expect the midfielder to leave the club this summer as his contract at the club doesn’t expire until the summer of 2018, hence the club is under no pressure to sell the Wales international.
