Arsenal are prepared to sell injured attacker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer according to the independent.
The midfielder joined the Gunners five years ago as a 17 year old and Wenger is prepared to let the midfielder leave should they receive a good offer for his services.
It is thought that Wenger believes the 22 year old development has stalled since his move to the Emirates and despite making close to 150 appearances for the North London club, he hasn’t improved as Wenger expected, hence the reason he is prepared to cash in on him as long as they can get more than the £12m they paid for him five years back.
The midfielder has 2 more years left in his current deal at Arsenal and he is expected to cost more than £15m.
In January, it was reported that the midfielder was considering leaving the club in the summer due to his relative lack of activity in the first half of the season. Despite being given a run in the first team of recent, Chamberlain hasn’t really impressed with his performances.
Chelsea made a move to sign the midfielder last summer when the West London club proposed a swap deal involving Chamberlain and Petr Cech, a deal which was swiftly rejected by the Gunners.
With Arsenal prepared to sell the player 12months later and with the managerial change that is expected to occur at Stamford Bridge next summer, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will be interested in signing the winger again.
Chamberlain has scored only 14 goals in 149 appearances for the Gunners since joining the club five years ago.
