Arsenal have placed a £20m price tag on Lucas Perez, according to reports.
Perez has been told to find a new club but he is yet to secure a move away from the Emirates despite being left behind in England during preseason to resolve his future on time.
He’s been linked with a Deportivo La Coruna, Newcastle, Fenerbahce and Sevilla but none of these clubs have been able to reach an agreement with Arsenal.
The Sun have now dropped a clue on why it is being difficult for the striker to leave the Emirates.
The report via the Daily Cannon claims Arsenal are determined to get the full £17m they paid to sign Perez a year ago.
It is also claimed that suitors may have to stump up to £20m to sign the striker permanently.
This is an odd rumor because it doesn’t make sense for Arsenal to be demanding that much for a player who isn’t part of their plans.
All these while, it’s been claimed that Arsenal want €15m for the striker which the player’s camp believe is on the high side. It is unlikely the club will now increase its price tag to £20m after the player submitted a transfer request last week to force the club to reduce its €15m valuation.
It is reasonable if Arsenal want to get a large chunk of the money spent on the striker last summer but it doesn’t make any sense if they want to recoup all the money or even more.
