Arsenal are considering making a move for Manchester City star Wilfried Bony, according to reports.
The Gunners are currently in search of a striker to compete with Olivier Giroud this season and have been linked with a host of names already.
The boss is currently working on a deal to sign Olympic Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette but the French club are unwilling to let the striker leave. With Arsenal desperately in search of attacking reinforcements, the Daily Star are claiming Wenger could be forced to turn his attentions to City’s Bony.
Bony is surplus to requirements at the Etihad stadium and has been told to find a new club.
It is understood some members of Arsenal board wants Wenger to make a move for Bony.
The report claims the faction believes Bony is the best option available in the market at the moment but Wenger has doubts about the player.
The striker struggled to make an impact at the Etihad since he joined City in January 2015 and Wenger is concerned about signing the player.
Wenger has always emphasized he wants to sign players that would improve his squad and it appears the manager doubts if Bony would be an upgrade to Giroud.
Everton are also interested in the striker and would face competition from Arsenal should Wenger decide to make the interest concrete.
