Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry believes should Arsenal sign Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, it won’t still guarantee trophies.

The Frenchman was speaking just weeks after the Poland striker admitted he could move to the Premier League someday. The Pole admitted Henry was his idol while growing up sparking rumours that Arsenal were monitoring the former Borussia Dortmund striker ahead of a potential summer move.

The Gunners have been urged by fans and pundits to sign a world class centre forward and a defensive midfielder this summer if they want to challenge for trophies next season but Henry is of a different opinion as the ex France striker believes should Wenger manage to sign Robert Lewandowski and N’Golo Kante, it won’t still guarantee the Gunners the EPL title.

The ex Gunner who is frustrated with the team’s inability to win the league title since he last won it with the club believes the solution to the club’s problem is not easy.

“The Champions League run has helped to soften the blow for City but Arsenal have not even had the consolation of a decent European campaign and everyone at the club is frustrated, Henry told the Sun via the Daily Star.

“People say to me they need to sign a central midfielder, a centre-half or a 30-goals-a-season striker. But the solution is never that easy.

“Robin van Persie scored 30 Premier League goals in his final season at Arsenal and they did not win the title.

“They could sign Robert Lewandowski and N’Golo Kante tomorrow and it would not guarantee anything.”

Arsenal are currently on course to qualify for the Champions league for the twentieth season in a role but the team hasn’t finished top of the table since 2004.
