Sky Sports pundit Matt Le Tissier believes Ronald Koeman will be the perfect replacement for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Wenger’s contract expires in June and a section of Arsenal fans are already calling for him to step down.

Arsenal hierarchy would prefer Wenger stays and have already offered him a new two year extension but Le Tisser is of the opinion that the French man needs to leave for the Gunners to progress.

The former England international has now urged Arsenal not to look beyond Koeman in its search for a successor.

“A change of manager is the key,” he told Sky Sportsas quoted by The Daily Star.

“I agreed with the Arsenal boys, Charlie (Nicholas) and Merse (Paul Merson), in taking Ronald Koeman.

“I think he wouldn’t suffer fools quite as gladly as Wenger and would surround himself with stronger characters.”

Koeman has enjoyed a wonderful managerial spell in the Premier League since he joined Southampton in 2014 and definitely deserves to be considered for a top job like Arsenal’s.

Although he is yet to win a title, he has shown that he has the ability to improve his team and get the best out of his players.

However, I don’t think he should be our first choice candidate to replace Wenger. Juventus’ Max Allegri who has a better track record of winning titles and experience at the highest level would be a better option.

Arsenal have struggled to win a major title for over a decade and a manager with the experience of winning at the top level should be our next manager and Allegri has that advantage over Koeman.
