According to popular Sky Sport reporter Guillem Balague revealed Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are still miles apart from agreeing a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to move to the Premier League
The Gabon international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirate Stadium this transfer winter, but negotiations have hit a stumbling block in recent days.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis, chief scout Sven Mislintat and contract negotiator Huss Fahmy travelled to Dortmund this week to holds talks with the Bundesliga club.
Further doubt has been cast over the potential transfer this weekend though with Dortmund naming Aubameyang in their squad to face Freiburg later today.
And while Balague claims the two clubs are still yet to agree a fee, he expects the move to be completed before February 1.
“Aubameyang miles apart, still are Dortmund and Arsenal,” Balague said on his YouTube channel.
“He’s in the squad to for the Freiburg game on Saturday. It doesn’t take much sense for him to play because he has told them he wants to leave but we’ll see what happens with that.
“The player will want Arsenal to sort this out as soon as possible. He understands this is a massive investment.
“But at the same time he would like this sorted because he’s made it very clear he wants to go to London and to Borussia that he wants to leave as well.
“The suggestion from Borussia is that perhaps Arsenal don’t have the money.
“They are miles apart right now, but remember 90-odd per cent of the deals happen in the last 48 hours [of the transfer window].”
