Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes Arsene Wenger would snub the England job in favor of staying at the Emirates.
The ex Gunner was discussing possible candidates to replace Roy Hodgson when he claimed Arsene Wenger has too much on his hands at the Emirates for him to leave the club.
Campbell believes the French tactician would concentrate on winning a league title with the Gunners after missing out on it for 12 years instead of taking up the England job. When asked if he sees Wenger being appointed the next Three Lions boss, Cambell told Sky Sports.
“No, I don’t think he will (take the job).”
“I think he’s got a big enough job to do at Arsenal, especially after what happened at the back end of last season.
“There was quite a bit of unrest at the club from the supporters. It was a fantastic opportunity lost, I believe. Fair play to Leicester, Leicester won it hands down, but it was the best chance Arsenal had had in many years to bring the Premier League title to the Emirates and it went missing.
“So he is going to have his work cut out this season. He is going to have to make it happen this season.”
Wenger is one of the big names being linked with the England national team to replace Roy Hodgson.
