Alexis Sanchez has practically demanded the impossible from Arsenal after he reiterated his desire to play Champions League football, despite being aware the Gunners won’t be part of that competition next season.

Sanchez’s future has been the subject of speculation all summer and it looks like it won’t be resolved anytime soon.

The Chilean is attracting interest from Manchester City and while Wenger is insisting he won’t be sold this summer, the striker appears to be pushing for an exit.

Just yesterday, Wenger said in an interview that he is positive Sanchez will remain with us next season but less than 24 hours after, the Chilean has dropped a big hint that he could be set for an exit.

Speaking to a radio station in Chile where he is currently on holiday, Sanchez outlined his desire to play Champions League football, putting his Arsenal future in doubt.

“The decision I have made, I have to wait for Arsenal’s response, it depends on them, what they want, my idea is to play the Champions League and win it, he said, as quoted by The Daily Cannon. But for now I am in the Arsenal, I finish my contract in one more year.”

It does appear to me that Sanchez wants to leave the club, hence the reason he is creating more fierce speculations with his comments. He had several opportunities to put these rumors to bed in the last few weeks but he has refused to do so.

Losing Sanchez will be very bad for the our chances of winning the title and losing him to a rival will even be worse to take but no player is bigger than the club. Hence, I think Wenger should flog him out if he refuses to extend his contract.
