Arsene Wenger is hoping to make Japan striker Takuma Asano his second summer signing, according to reports.
The Gunners reportedly had a bid for the striker accepted last week and according to the Mirror via Squawka, Arsene Wenger is hoping to complete the signing of the 21 year old from Sanfreece Hiroshima in the next few days – possibly in the next 72 hours.
Asano is regarded as one of Japan’s most talented footballer and Wenger wants to quickly finalize the move for the striker and then press ahead with other targets.
Asano has revealed he is prepared to jump at the opportunity of moving to the Emirates and wouldn’t mind going out on loan once he completes the switch.
“I was a little stunned.
“But I feel like I have the confidence to succeed wherever I go. If I am loaned elsewhere, my take on it is that I give it 100%.”
Asano has scored 25 goals in 91 appearances for the Japanese club since making his first appearance in 2013. He also has five caps for Japan.
Arsene Wenger will also look to sign a top striker this summer even if he completes the signing of Asano. The French man is keen on providing quality competition for Olivier Giroud next season.
