Arsenal have made a bid for Japan striker Takuma Asano, according to Goal.
Wenger has been working actively to sign a striker since the end of last season but the French man is yet to be successful. However, Wenger has made a shocking move for Sanfrecce Hiroshima’s striker Asano.
Asano is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Japan and Wenger has moved to bring the striker to the Emirates.
The striker has revealed that he was “stunned” by the Gunners offer and he will consider the bid before making a final decision.
However, it appears the 21 year old is prepared to grab the opportunity of moving to the Emirates with both hands and even stated he would be prepared to go out on loan should he complete a move to the Emirates.
“I was a little stunned. But I feel like I have the confidence to succeed wherever I go. If I am loaned elsewhere, my take on it is that I give it 100 percent,” Asano said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
Asano has scored 25 goals in 91 appearances for his club since making his debut in 2013 and also has four caps for the Japan national team.
The Gunners are also on the lookout for a top striker this summer and the signing of Asano won’t stop Wenger from signing a top centre forward to challenge Olivier Giroud next season.
