Arsene Wenger may consider handing a recall to Aaron Ramsey after the midfielder returned from injury last weekend to feature as a second-half substitute in the 3-3 draw at West Ham.With Crystal Palace the visitors at the Emirates, the more attack-minded Ramsey could displace either Francis Coquelin or Mohamed Elneny at the base of midfield in Wenger’s usual 4-2-3-1 formation.

Unless Wenger looks to rotate, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi should remain unchanged behind lone striker Danny Welbeck. The likes of Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell provide alternatives.

Per Mertesacker may push for a recall in central defence following a shaky performance from Gabriel last weekend, but Wenger could stick with an unchanged back four of Hector Bellerin, Gabriel, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal, with Kieran Gibbs and Calum Chambers providing back-up.

Petr Cech has been an unused substitute for the last two matches following a calf injury but is expected to return to the starting XI in place of David Ospina.

Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky featured for the U21’s on Thursday, but appear unlikely to be in contention against Palace.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Santi Cazorla remain out for the Gunners, while Mathieu Flamini (knock) is expected to be available.
