Jack Wilshere has told his friends his 17-year stay at the Emirates will finish at the end of the season, according to the The Daily Star.
The central midfielder’s current contract at The Emirates runs out at the end of the season and with talks of a new contract not progressing well, Jack Wilshere has admitted his future at the club looks uncertain and could be set to leave on a free at the end of the season.
The Daily Star understands that the attacking midfielder is not ready to sign a proposed £80,000 per-week contract offer from The Gunners as he feels it represent a downgrade on his current wages of £100,000 per-week.
Everton are believed to be leading the race to land the deep-lying playmaker on a free transfer at the end of the season, but report suggest he could be the subject of a two-way transfer battle between the Toffees and the Hammers with the London club (also Wilshere’s boyhood club) also eyeing a move for him in the summer.
Should he leave The Emirates at the end of the season, he could be set to earn a huge signing-on fee and far better wages compared to what he is being offered at Arsenal.
The 26-year-old has been at The Emirates since the age of nine but his track record of getting injured easily has not allowed him fulfil his massive potential.
He is known for his vision, creativity, versatility, technique, excellent passing abilities, tackling holding onto the ball and gets fouled often due to his style of play.
