Arsenal have not made a bid for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, via the Express.
It was claimed Arsenal tabled a £30m bid to sign the winger but was rejected by Leicester City. However, it appears that is not the case as Sky Sports has revealed Leicester City have not received any bid for Mahrez’ services.
It is understood that the Premier League Champions are determined to keep the winger and has informed him he would not be sold this summer.
Mahrez was reportedly open to a move to the Emirates but the Guardian are now claiming the player has agreed to stay at Leicester City after discussions with the club’s director of football.
Mahrez is expected to continue negotiations on a new contract with Leicester City but it is understood there could be an agreement between both parties to allow him leave next summer should a big club table a reasonable bid for his services.
The news that Leicester have been able to convince Mahrez to snub a move to the Emirates would be a big blow to Wenger who was hoping to agree a deal for the Algerian
Mahrez helped Leicester City to its first Premier League title in its history last season, scoring 17 goals for the Foxes and winning the PFA player of the year award in the process.
