Fenerbahce are waiting for Arsenal to make a decision on David Ospina’s future, according to reports.
The Turkish giants are long-time admieres of the Gunners goalkeeper and they are being touted as the player’s next club.
According to BEIN Turkey, Fenerbahce have already made an official bid for the goalkeeper and are waiting for Arsenal to respond.
According to the report, the deal is in danger of collapsing, unless Arsenal reduce its demands.
The size of Fenerbahce’s bid wasn’t stated but previous reports had suggested that a deal could be struck for around £3.5m. If we have to go by that, then it is surprising that the transfer fee is becoming a problem.
A player of Ospina’s quality will definitely be a bargain at £3.5m in the current transfer market, so this shouldn’t be a problem unless Arsenal increased his price tag.
Anyway, I expect a move to happen in the coming weeks because it seems the Colombian is keen on a move away from the Emirates.
Ospina will have the larger say on his future because he has just 12 months left in his currrent contract and Arsenal know they can’t afford to lose him for nothing next year.
The 28 year old wants regularly game time and he’ll definitely get that chance at Istanbul.
