Lyon star could become Arsenal’s second summer signing after reports claim that talks have been held between Arsenal and the French club regarding the strikers’ transfer to the Emirates.

Arsenal are lining up a £35m bid for Olympic Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.

Wenger is keen on signing a striker this summer and Lacazette features prominently on his wish list.

The French striker was Arsenal’s priority target last summer and we even had a €35m bid rejected for his services as Lyon insisted on keeping their star man. However things have changed in the last 11 months and the striker has been told by his club that he would be allowed to leave if suitors come up with a big money bid.

Atletico Madrid were close to signing the striker last week but the Court of Arbitration for Sports decision to uphold the transfer ban placed on them by FIFA has given Arsenal a good chance to swoop for the French man.

According to Transfermarketweb, Arsenal are prepared to table a €40m (£35m) bid to sign the striker.

It is claimed Arsene Wenger and club chief Ivan Gazidis have met with Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas to discuss a deal for Lacazette.

Arsenal are long time admirers of Lacazette and have tried to sign the striker on several occasions. We could now get our wish this summer, having stepped up our pursuit of the striker this last week.

Should Lacazette complete a move to the Emirates, he will face competition from Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck for a spot in the starting line up.

Gooners, is Lacazette the top striker signing Arsenal needs this summer or should Wenger abandon this deal and go for someone else?
