Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has criticized his side for their poor finishing on Tuesday night against Barcelona.
The Gunners saw two good chances missed by Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before falling behind to a Lionel Messi opener.
The Gunners eventually lost the game 2-0 and Wenger bemoaned the wastefulness of his side on the night.
Prior to the game against the Catalan giants, Wenger had urged his side to be clinical against the Spaniards. Despite the warnings, the French man was let down by his sides wastefulness in front of goal.
And Wenger was rightfully unhappy with his side’s poor finishing.
“We had an unbelievable chance in the first half,” the Frenchman said [as quoted by the Daily Star]
“Our finishing was a problem.
“We missed it in the final third.
“We gave absolutely everything so it’s a shame we have nothing to show for it.”
Arsenal will now have a huge task to accomplish at the Camp Nou next month as they try to turn around a two goal deficit in other to qualify for the next round, which has never happened in the history of the Champions League and having to do it against the current European Champions makes it harder.
But in football, everything is possible and we will be going to Camp Nou with that little hope.
