Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal have been wanting to sign Southampton defensive midfielder; Victor Wanyama for a while now and on-going reports indicate that Southampton boss; Ronald Koeman has told the Gunners to forget about signing Victor Wanyama in the January transfer window as he is not going to be sold.
The Gunners have already almost completed the signing of Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel for £7.3 and are reported to be keen on bringing in Marcelo Brozovic with reports indicating that the Gunners were ready to offer Inter Milan £18.3 Million for the player that is on loan at Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb.
Arsenal are looking for more defensive cover after the team was hit by a lengthy injury list to first team players, thereby limiting the options that the Gunners have in case of further injuries as we approach the crucial stage of the season where matches and several competitions would be coming up fast and thick.
Wanyama is seen as the future of the Gunners defensive midfield crisis; although Coquelin did an outstanding job as the defensive midfielder prior to his injury but injuries to Santi Carzola, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere means; Wenger needs to buy to sustain their title charge. One thing is for certain; if Wanyama continue putting in impressive performances till the end of the season, the Gunners would not be the only club vying for his signature and his prize would have risen beyond £20 Million.
