With just a few hours left till the close of the ongoing winter transfer window, movement is expected from Arsenal and other Premier League giants before the ever busy deadline day.
Various reports have revealed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been handed a £70 million war-chest to spend this January. The gaffer had revealed that his side were in for a quiet end to transfer window except an exceptional situation presented itself.
Who becomes the ‘exceptional’ signing remains to seen. The Gunners have been linked with a host of names mostly in midfield and in attack.
Superstar target Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has already been declared unavailable by both player and club. The striker reiterated his wish to remain with Borussia Dortmund while the club’s CEO also claimed a bid of over the Gunners war-chest wouldn’t tempt them into a sale.
Edison Cavani at Paris Saint-Germain has also been monitored by the Gunners. The Uruguayan’s frustration at being played out of position was confirmed by his manager who revealed h couldn’t place the desires of one player over the rest of the team.
Long-term target Alvaro Morata could be the man. With the summer arrivals of Mario Madzukic and Paulo Dybala at Juventus, the Spaniard has fallen behind in the pecking order and is eager for a move away for Turin. talkSPORT reveals the Gunners are keen on him.
Back in midfield, the Gunners have linked with Napoli’s Jorginho and yet again PSG’s Adrien Rabiot.
Whoever Wenger decides to spend this on remains to be seen. Your guess is just as good as mine.
