The summer transfer window is still a few weeks away from been officially open. However, this has not stopped clubs and players alike from sounding out their interests ahead of time.
Arsenal are set to lose the transfer of long time targets Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels after reports according to the Metro, claim that Manchester United are seriously closing in on the signing of the German duo, with a deal already agreed for one.
United have been heavily linked with the two Borussia Dortmund stars in recent months and are gearing up for a double swoop this summer.
Popular German newspaper Bild are running a feature of both player’s future this week.
Bild say that 24-year-old Gundogan is already believed to have agreed terms with the Red Devils and is sure to complete a move to Old Trafford this summer, while BVB captain Hummels is also close to sealing a move to United.
The services of the pair would reportedly cost about £48.5 million to acquire, with van Gaal prepared to part with the said amount.
