Everton have basically snapped up Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, according to Carlo Jacomuzzi.
It’s been a very busy summer for the toffees who have added five players to their squad already, with Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klassen and Sandro Ramirez among the new faces signed up at Goodison’s Park.
However, with Lukaku possibly leaving this summer, Ronald Koeman might feel Sandro Ramirez would not be enough, given his lack of Premier league experience and physicality.
Carlo Jacomuzzi who works as a scout for Everton claims the club is now closing in on Giroud and has ended their pursuit of Duvan Zapata who seems a more expensive option than the Arsenal man.
“We are going to sign Giroud for 20m, a bargain compared to the 25m asked for Duvan Zapata”
Carlo told Radio CRC when asked about Duvan Zapata.
With the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, Giroud faces an uncertain future at the Emirates where he was a backup striker last season, making just 14 starts in all competition, however he admitted this week that he has no intention of leaving Arsenal
“I want to carry on my good journey at Arsenal and I want to always give my best.
I would love to win another title or maybe more until the end of my contract. The motivation is here, always doing your best to make your family proud” he said.
