Arsenal Arsene Wenger has been urged to lure in players at the new year as he currently can’t afford to have more players sidelined if truly he is going for a major title push this term.
Wenger was high criticized for failing to sign Frenchman Karim Benzema who many believed was interested in making the switch to the Emirates if the right deal was tabled.
However, Wenger has openly justified his actions of not signing in players and he blamed it on due to the right options weren’t available.
The Gunners currently have 8 players ruled out of injury and are not expected to return any time soon.
“I said during the transfer period that we would take players who can strengthen our squad, but we did not find them,” he said.
“The question was not even ‘do we sign them or not?’ we have not found one player who could strengthen our squad.
“We need to get everybody back. We have a very big squad. We are not shutting the door as well [in January].
“If we find opportunities, we will do [them]. Having everybody back, especially offensively, I feel we have what we need.”
