Unai Emery has thus far had a forgettable start to life in the Premier league after two defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea. His selection has drawn criticism but many have excused him as he is yet to understand his squad fully and find the balance in the team.
Arsenal are believed to have one of the best strikers in the league in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but Emery has revealed the possibility of pairing the aforementioned star with Alexandre Lacazette.
Aubameyang started the game against Manchester City but was hardly given any form of service upfront, and so, he was absorbed of the defeat. He was subsequently given the nod to play against Chelsea but the Gabonese missed an open-net chance and many have called on Emery to give Lacazette the chance to start or play both of them in front.
Emery has revealed that he could field both stars.
“The possibility to play Aubameyang and Lacazette is okay because we tried that in pre-season and also last year they played together,” said Arsenal’s head coach.
“It is the performance that says to us how we can play. We tried in pre-season and we try n training to play each of the conditions for every player.
“Each match if different, it is a different possibility. Against Manchester City, the last 25, 30 minutes they played together.
“For me it is about finding a good balance for all that we want in attacking and defensive moments.”
