The Independent claims former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta is so eager to take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, that the former Gunners’ midfielder is already making plans with regards to the staff that could join him at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger announced he was stepping down from the helms of affairs at Arsenal this summer which has seen a host of managers linked with a move to replace the Frenchman.
The likes of Brendan Rodgers, Carlo Ancelotti, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Thomas Tuchel, Mikel Arteta, Luis Enrique and Max Allegri have all been touted as potential arrivals at the Emirates, with previous favourite Allegri having seemingly ruled himself out of the running for the job last night, after Juventus secured their 7th-straight Scudetto title and 4th-straight domestic double with a 0-0 draw at Roma.
‘If they don’t fire me, I see myself as staying at Juventus next year too‘, the Italian tactician explained during his post-match press conference.
The report further claimed Arteta is so eager to make a return to the club, that he has ‘already thought up plans for his backroom staff’ at the Emirates.
The Metro also state that ‘those close to the situation feel circumstances are currently falling so Arteta is the likeliest to be the next coach’, amid mounting reports throughout the English media that the Spaniard could be named as the new Gunners’ boss within the next couple of weeks.
