The Independent claims former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta is so eager to take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, that the former Gunners’ midfielder is already making plans with regards to the staff that could join him at the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger announced he was stepping down from the helms of affairs at Arsenal this summer which has seen a host of managers linked with a move to replace the Frenchman.

The likes of Brendan Rodgers, Carlo Ancelotti, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Thomas Tuchel, Mikel Arteta, Luis Enrique and Max Allegri have all been touted as potential arrivals at the Emirates, with previous favourite Allegri having seemingly ruled himself out of the running for the job last night, after Juventus secured their 7th-straight Scudetto title and 4th-straight domestic double with a 0-0 draw at Roma.

‘If they don’t fire me, I see myself as staying at Juventus next year too‘, the Italian tactician explained during his post-match press conference.
