UPDATE: Arsenal 5’9 Tall Striker Target Drops MASSIVE Transfer HINT

Wenger has admitted that he is open to making new signings in January after seeing his squad decimated by injuries this season

Arsenal’s pursuit for Celta Vigo forward Nolito seems to be coming to an end, with the Gunners set to miss out on the Spaniard after he disclosed that he is just a few details away from signing a new deal with Celta Vigo.

Arsenal who have been linked with the former Barcelona youngster since he played a leading role in the 4-1 demolition of his former club earlier this season, were earlier rumored to have opened contract talks with him according to Spanish Newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.

Nolito, who has scored 8 times in 15 appearances this season is set to earn a 250% salary increase if he joined Arsenal, with his £12.9 million release clause proving too much of a bargain for Arsene Wenger to pass up, but he has quashed the rumors linking him with a move away from Celta.

The 27-year-old speaking to Marca on speculations surrounding his transfer to Barcelona said “They are only rumors. I want to be loud and clear, it is only what I have read in the press and what my friends have told me.

I think that if Barca really want me they’ll call Celta, and as far as I know, they haven’t done so.

The truth is that am happy in Vigo and that is why, some minor details pending, I will be renewing with Celta soon. I am sure that am doing well here and I have decided to renew”

Arsenal would have to do a lot to convince him, and fast, else they would have to pay much more for him if he signs a new deal.
