It now only a matter of when and not if Alexis Sanchez will exit Arsenal, with his next footballing destination tipped to be Manchester City. The Citizens midfielder Kelvin De Bruyne has tacitly revealed that then\ Chilean is on his way to the Etihad, claims report.
De Bruyne was quizzed about the prospect of playing alongside Sanchez after the Citizens thumped Bristol City in the Carabao Cup first semi final. In his response, he used the phrase ‘when he comes’ and not ‘If”, and that has stirred reports that he is on the verge of dumping Arsenal.
Manchester City were close to a £60million deal for the star but the Gunners refused to accept the bid after they failed to sign Thomas Lemar. Sanchez is free to speak with any Club at the moment and if the Gunners to fail to cash him on him this January, he could walk out of the club as a free agent in the summer.
While De Bruyne acknowledged that all the players of Manchester City are on the top of their game, he reckoned that Sanchez will definitely add value to the side.
“We are on a good period already, the whole season. Everybody is doing a good job. When he comes he will add something to the team.”
Manchester City are desperately in the want of striker following the injury sustained by Gabriel Jesus – the Brazil will be out of action for six weeks and this situation portends a great danger to their title chase as it is given that Sergio Aguerro is in the only out and out forward at the club.
Arsenal have been linked with a chunk of players as Sanchez’s replacement but it is left to be seen if any of them is signed.
