Arsenal are preparing to sell five players in the next fortnight, according to reports.

Wenger has been working hard to bring in new signings that will strengthen the squad but he is also keen to carry out a massive clear out.

According to BBC via Daily Cannon, Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson and Lucas Perez are all set to leave Arsenal before the start of the season.

Wenger is keen to free up space in the squad and wage bill for new signings and he wants to ship out the quintet as soon as possible.

Of the five players reportedly on their way out, Wilshere is the one that is a little surprising considering he is one with enormous potential but his inability to stay fit has forced Wenger to give up on him.

The other four were in and out of of Wenger’s squad last season and they won’t have a place in the team next term.

Perez is already being linked with a return to Spain, Gibbs and Jenkinson are attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs while Debuchy is expected to make a move back to France.

Their departures could fetch Arsenal around £50m which will be reinvested into signing new players like Thomas Lemar or keeping our current star players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
