Olivier Giroud’s stats for the month of March 2015, earning himself the Barclays player of the Month award.
Gunner boss has fired back at reports that he is worried and sad over the performances of one of his most trusted Arsenal player.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Olivier Giroud’s goal drought doesn’t bother him, as per goal.
The Gunners first choice striker is yet to score a goal since January 13 when the striker netted a brace against Liverpool. eight games later, the French striker is yet to record a goal to his name and it has caused many pundits and fans to question the reason Wenger decided not to sign a world class striker in the January transfer window.
However, Giroud’s form is not a reason to worry for Wenger as the manager believes the French man is doing his best on the pitch.
Speaking at a pre match press conference before the game agains Leicester City, Wenger said:
“I am not concerned about Giroud’s form.”
“He set up [Mesut] Ozil for the first goal against Bournemouth last week [in a 2-0 win].
“For me, as assist or a goal is the same for an attacker.”
Giroud set up Theo Walcott for Arsenal’s equaliser against Leicester City on Sunday before Welbeck’s 94th-minute header sealed the win for Arsenal.
However, the Gunners are preparing to welcome a number of first team players from injury and fortunately, Gunners striker Danny Welbeck is among the players set to return to action for the Gunners against Hull City.
We will be hoping that Welbeck’s return to full fitness and his crucial goal against Leicester City over the weekend will give the team a bit of ruthlessness in attack and also force Giroud to step up and deliver.
Giroud has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances for the Gunners this season.
