Arsenal contract rebel Aaron Ramsey will sign a new and improve contract, this is the claim of manager Arsene Wenger, per report.

Ramsey will enter into the final year of his contract with Arsenal at the end of this season and he has been offered a new deal by the Gunners. The Welsh midfielder reportedly rebuffed the offers of Arsenal as they didn’t meet his expectation.

Following the sale of Francis Coquelin and the injury lay-off of Santi Cazorla, the midfield of Arsenal has remained threadbare and the club are unwilling to lose another midfielder. Cazorla future with Arsenal is hanging in the balance and Ramsey has remained about the most creative midfielder for the Gunners since the diminutive Spaniard picked the injury.

However, Arsene Wenger is confident that Ramsey will pen new deal at the club before long as claimed by the Sun.

“We are communicating. Yes, I’m confident, he’s not at the end of his contract, he has one-and-a-half years to go. From my side it is clear, but you always have to find an agreement,” he said.

“We want him to stay. He’s one of these guys who has been here for a long time. He will be an important player in the future of this club. I don’t want to convince a player (they should sign).

“I want the player to be happy to play for the club. Having players who want to play for the club is the way we want to play football and is in the values we feel are important to us.

“With the right amount of money we want to pay, all these things have to come together.”

Ramsey joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008 and he has steadily grew in relevance at the club. He’s featured in over 320 games for Arsenal in all competitions but he is now fondly remembered for his flick when Arsenal thumped CSKA Moscow in the Europa League game on Thursday.

He currently earns £110k-per-week at Arsenal and he wants a significant pay rise in the class of Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He was linked with a move to Manchester United when he revealed that he was not in talks with Arsenal over a deal in March.
