Arsenal are preparing a summer bid for Leicester City full back Ben Chilwell according to the Daily Mail via Daily Cannon.

Wenger’s attempts to sign the 19 year old in the January transfer window were declined by Leicester City not once but twice. The club was rebuffed with their original offer and also had a second bid rejected in the late hours of the winter transfer window.

Wenger however has not given up on signing the young fullback and is weighing up a summer bid for the Leicester City youngster.

Arsenal have also been linked with FC Lorient fullback Raphael Guerreiro as they seek for a back up to Nacho Monreal. Current second choice leftback Kieran Gibbs has reportedly informed Arsene Wenger about his intentions to leave the club this summer in search of regular first team action, and it is believed that Wenger would sanction Gibbs exit should he find a suitable replacement.

Arsenal will now explore the opportunity of signing Chilwell for the third time but the club would need to offer more than the £5m bid that was rejected on the winter transfer window deadline day.

Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in the defender and it is claimed the Blues were considering a bid of around £8m.

The defender who is a product of Leicester City’s academy attracted England’s big clubs with his performances for Leicester City under21 side last season and was scouted by Arsenal in December when he was on loan at Huddersfield town.

The 19 year old made his professional debut for Leicester City in October when he featured against Hull City in the Capital one cup.
