Arsenal have opened contract talks with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to reports.
The Gunners want to tie £30million-rated Ox to a new deal to fend off interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.
Preliminary talks were held last week to extend his current £70,000-a-week terms, which have one season left to run.
The 23-year-old was considering his future last season after finding himself in and out of Arsene Wenger’s team.
But Wenger wants to keep the England man with a fresh deal that will push Ox past the £100,000-a-week mark.
With his future secured for at least two years, Wenger will now turn to trying to tie down Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Meanwhile Wenger may need to delve deep into the transfer market to sign a new keeper.
