Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has disclosed his plans for the remainder of the ongoing transfer window.
Despite completely refusing to rule out more arrivals at the Emirates this month, the gaffer however disclosed he will be very quiet for the remainder of the month, via the Daily Star
Speaking at his pre-Chelsea press conference, the Wenger said of his January plans : “You will certainly over the next ten days have some work to do, not especially with Arsenal.
“We are always open to the exceptional cases.
“At the moment I expect our last ten days [of the transfer window] to be quiet.”
Despite the arrival of Mohamamed Elneny from FC Basel, the news has been received as dissaponting by most sections of the Gunners faithful who feel they have been let down by their manager having been promised a ‘busy’ window at the beginning of January. There is much believe that the manager should be looking at adding to his current squad to maintain their position at the top of the table where they currently sit by virtue of superior goal difference.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of forwards amongst whom include Edison Cavani, Alvaro Morata and Nolito but Wenger seems to be ready to bank on his current options with injured duo close to full fitness.
