Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has urged Wenger to sign quality players this summer to make the fans happy.

Wenger has come under severe criticism from fans in recent years with some section of the Emirates crowd even protesting against the French man during the season.. Seaman has now urged Wenger to sign quality players this transfer window if he is to win back the fans.

The ex-goalie also stressed that he has faith in Wenger going forward and says he wants  the French man to win the League with Arsenal.

“Arsenal had a good season. It wasn’t brilliant because we didn’t win anything, but to finish second is a great achievement,” Seaman told Talksport, via the Mirror.

“But there are still doubts – doubts over the manager and the team and whether it can push on.

“For me, Arsene is the best. I love the guy and I certainly don’t want to see him leave. I’ve worked with him and know how good he is.

“More and more fans are getting on the Wenger Out bandwagon and I’m just desperate for him to win the league again just to shut everybody up.”

“I think the only way you would be able to stop the fan backlash is by signing top quality players,” he said. “We need the finished article, not the young, up-and-coming guys.

“But what frightens me is that if the club don’t go out and buy these players in the summer, and Arsene does leave, where does that leave Arsenal?

“A lot of fans think the base that Arsene has set is the standard, but it won’t be. It will fall below that if we get a new manager in.”

Seaman is a Gunner through and through, he was a member of the Gunners squad from 1990-2003 before he joined Manchester City in the latter part of his career.
