Arsenal and Manchester City have begun talks over a swap deal which would involve Alexis Sanchez and Kelechi Iheanacho or Sergio Aguero, according to reports.
Manchester City are believed to be keen on Sanchez but Arsenal are reluctant to let him join a rival. The player himself is reportedly keen on a reunion with Pep Guardiola, which could put Arsenal in a tough position if he refuses to sign a new deal.
The Gambling Times via The Express, reports that Manchester City are hoping to complete a deal for Sanchez and will take their time over a deal.
The report claimed that preliminary discussion has already begun and both clubs are in talks over a possible swap deal.
Arsenal value Sanchez at £50m, despite his contract running out next year but City are hoping to reduce the price by throwing in any of their strikers.
The report claims the possibility of throwing Sergio Aguero in the deal has been discussed but the Argentine may prefer to fight for his future at the Etihad.
Another name that has been brought up is Kelechi Iheanacho who looks set to leave the Etihad this summer. Valued by City at £25m, Iheanacho could be thrown into a deal to lure Sanchez to the Etihad.
Losing Sanchez will be a big blow to Arsenal and may dent our chances of challenging for the league title next season but swapping Iheanacho for the Chilean would be the weirdest and laughable thing transfer ever!
I don’t think there is any possibility Sanchez will be moving to the Etihad this summer, not even in a swap deal involving Aguero.
