Arsenal have already set the ball in motion to bring to the Emirates another midfield star to resolve the midfield woes according to Telegraph
The Green light continues to blink on a possible move for Pedro Rodriguez to Arsenal to re-unite him with Alexis Sanchez in the coming window, as reports of a persistent discomfort at his position at the Nou Camp becomes more frequent.
Pedro was tracked by Arsene Wenger during the last summer window but a deal was finally called off, shifting our attention to Alexis. Having splashed €33m for his teammate, it won’t come as a shock that we are reported to be lining up a €33m bid for Pedro. Alexis’s influence in the team has been nothing short of staggering. He’s been virtually the one carrying the team all on his own and giving we can’t keep all our eggs in one basket, Wenger surely must be on the lookout for another player of similar energy to Alexis.
There is no doubt that we are pretty stocked in attack this season and it’s hard to see the priority not being a defender or a defensive midfield player but strengthening the team in all departments is not an overboard challenge and considering Pedro is not quite been used to full potential by Luis Enrique, we might as well pounce to good effect.
Pedro will be a vital signing for us to provide us with balance. While we seem well stocked with players who could operate on the right-hand side of attack, the left has yet to be manned by a real reliable force. Cazorla has been immensely disappointing, Podolski doesn’t get the chance, and neither Walcott nor Chamberlain will likely feel at home on that side, creating a need for someone there. The team is full of runners already, but a good balance still seems to be lacking in our attacks.
With the players available and those out on the sidelines, you’d be mighty bold to place a bet on Wenger signing an attacking player this winter but our injury records makes it possible for one of our main forces to still suffer some strange ailment along the way. And while the Dybalas and Destros have flattered, I think we could make use of some experience and proven record. Not easy to find one with both qualities checked, but Pedro is on the fringes at Barceloan and he might be in need of some breather. He’ll take that left wing position with more comfort that some of our guys do at the moment.
