Following the recent dispute involving Paris Saint-Germain and defender Sergi Aurier, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a summer swoop for the player following his likely availability come the end of the season.
The 23-year-old right-back was suspended indefinitely by the French side following his blasting of manager Laurent Blanc and teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Salvatore Sirigu, Edinson Cavani and Gregory van der Wiel in an outburst on social media in a question-and-answer session on Periscope.
According to L’Equipe via Tribal football, the Gunners are pondering an end-of-season pursuit of the Ivory Coast international.
Though Hector Bellerin remains the undisputed first choice right back at the Emirates, Wenger is believed to be seeking reinforcements in that position as the temporary departure of Mathieu Debuchy is likely to be made permanent come this summer while the long term injury to on loan Carl Jenkinson will leave the Gunners light in that position come next season.
Though Aurier has since apologised for his comments it is however believed that the outburst is likely to force his sale in the summer transfer window. Tribal football further claims claims he would be made available by PSG in the summer for a fee of around £11.7 million.
Should Wenger push through for a move for the African international, after having turned down the opportunity to sign him last summer despite the player issuing a come-and-get me plea to the Gunners and even making public that he has always been a lover of Arsenal?
