The transfer window may be several weeks away from officially opening, but that has not stopped clubs from monitoring their transfer target ahead of the summer window.
Arsenal are keeping a close eye on their target with fresh reports that Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette ahead of a summer transfer deal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger sent top scout Brian McDermott to France earlier this week to watch the striker in action.
The former Reading manager’s brief was to keep a close eye on the goal-scoring machine during their match against Bordeaux, according to France Football.
The Lyon striker is the top scorer in France’s Ligue 1 this year and has consistently shown that he deserves the opportunity to play for a bigger club.
The 23-year-old has scored 27 goals in 31 starts in the league – an impressive feat – while also racking up five assists in domestic competition too.
The France international is still young and would be an excellent addition to Arsenal’s free-flowing attack.
He would be a decent investment and would provide the necessary competition for fellow Frenchman Olivier Giroud in the Gunners attack.
