Arsene Wenger believes big clubs should play entertaining football despite their quest to win trophies.

Over the years, Arsenal have been known for playing entertaining football. The manager received waves of criticism for the team’s style of play with many claiming it was one of the reasons the club has not won a league title in twelve years.

Wenger has now revealed he is not prepared to change the team’s style and has urged big clubs to copy his style of play.

Speaking to NBC via the Daily Star, Wenger has opened up on his philosophy and he’s explained why he thinks all big clubs should play to entertain the fans

“Do you win ugly? You cannot be a big club and say, ‘Look, friends, buy a season ticket because we want to win ugly,’ that will not go far,” he said.

“The big clubs need to have the ambition to win with style. People want to see an experience that fulfils them.

“We live in a period where it is only about winning at any costs.

“The best way to win is to play where everybody expresses their talent. In a team sport, it’s about developing the qualities and getting them to play in harmony.”

The boss does have a point, fans deserve to be entertained and they will be happier if the team wins a football match by playing well.

Arsenal are currently in good form and are currently playing in a very entertaining way. Wenger is hoping his side wins the league title this season by playing the style of football they are known for.
