Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona’s midfielder Rafinha.

The Brazilian who is a product of Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy has struggled to break into his club’s first team despite being one of the most talented products of their academy.

At, 24, he is is still far away from a regular first team place at Barcelona and is now looking for more opportunities.

According to reports in Spain via the Daily Cannon, Arsenal are big admirers of the midfielder and could provide him a platform where he can play regularly.

The report didn’t indicate if Arsenal have made an official approach or not, but only mentioned that the Emirates could be a potential destination for the Brazilian.

Barcelona are working hard to sign PSG’s Marco Verratti which would likely impact on Rafinha’s future at the club but I doubt if Arsenal will make a move.

Injuries aside, Arsenal have enough options in midfield already and if everyone can stay fit, Wenger will find it difficult keeping everyone happy, hence there’s no reason to sign Rafinha.

Personally, I don’t think Rafinha should be Arsenal’s target even if we were looking to sign a midfielder. He has only managed to feature 24 times in the last two seasons because of injury, it won’t make any sense to sign an injury prone player in a position we’ve had several injury crisis over the years.
