Arsenal are set to renew its interest in Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto, according to reports.
Wenger is reportedly keen on signing a midfielder this summer and has been linked with the likes of Juventus Mario Lemina and Schalke’s Leon Goretzka. Those reports have gone a step up since it was revealed that Santi Cazorla has suffered another injury set back and could be out of action until April.
Cazorla first suffered a knee injury in November last year and has not featured since then and Wenger could now be forced into the market for his replacement.
And reports in Italy reckon that Jankto is now back on Arsenal’s radar.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport via Talk Sport, Arsenal could renew it’s interest in the Udinese midfielder, having monitored him closely in the past one year.
Reports have suggested that the 21 year old has a £6m release clause in his contract, meaning he wouldn’t cost much if Wenger decides to pursue a deal for him.
Jankto featured 29 times in the league for Udinese and scored 5 goals, not a bad return for a midfielder.
He could become the club’s third summer signing after Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac joined the club in a record £52m deal and on a free transfer respectively.
