Arsene Wenger has rejected offers for Olivier Giroud, according to reports.
The French striker’s future at Arsenal was thrown into doubt due to the club’s interest in signing a new centre forward but it appears Arsene Wenger is determined to keep his compatriot at the Emirates.
The striker has be criticized for his inconsistent performances at the club but Wenger has continued to back the 29 year old publicly.
According to the Daily Mirror via the Daily Star, Arsenal have received enquiries from a number of clubs as regard signing the striker but Wenger has turned down all the enquiries.
The report claims, Arsenal was open to the idea of selling the striker but after his superb form at the Euro 2016, the club has decided to take the striker off the market.
The striker has scored 82 goals in 187 appearances since he became a Gunner four years ago. Many believe the club need an upgrade to Giroud who would help win the Premier League title but Giroud’s form for france in the absence of Karim Benzema shows the Gunners man can still do a decent job at the Emirates.
Despite deciding to keep Giroud, Wenger wouldn’t rest on his attempts to sign a striker and is still working on a deal for either Alexandre Lacazette and Alvaro Morata.
