SkySports are reporting Arsenal are interested in signing West Ham star Domingos Quina.

The 17-year-old joined West Ham from Chelsea last summer with Slaven Bilic promoting him immediately to the first team squad, playing twice in the Hammers’ UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign before the Premier League season began.

He penned a professional deal with the Hammers last November and is under contract until June 2019.

He made 16 appearances in all competitions last term – predominantly for West Ham’s reserves – scoring one goal.

Speaking about walking away from Chelsea last year, Quina said: “Chelsea knew I was leaving.

“I was training on my own for a few weeks and there were rumours of me going to others teams.

“Shortly after that West Ham came in, I spoke to Slaven Bilic and what he said to me made a lot of sense.

“My agent Aidy Ward called me two weeks before pre-season and told me I might have the chance of going to the US with West Ham’s first team.

“I was like, ‘Wow!’ There were some questions about whether I was ready, but I knew I was.”

Formerly of Benfica, the Portugal Under-19 international featured prominently for West Ham’s development squad, and whilst he was named on the bench for the first team on a number of occasions, he made just two first-team appearances.
